College lacrosse has deep institutional history. The sport predates the NCAA. Some programs have been winning national championships for over a century. 1. Johns Hopkins — The Standard

The Terps have 12 national championships including three in the NCAA era, and they are the only major program that has never suffered a losing season in 91+ years of competition. Virginia has built a modern powerhouse under coach Lars Tiffany, adding to a program history that already includes multiple national championships. Duke has won multiple NCAA championships and consistently recruits top national talent. The Blue Devils are perennially among the ACC contenders and have produced a steady stream of All-Americans and professional players. 7. Princeton — Consistent Excellence

Princeton has multiple national championships and has been one of the most consistent programs in Ivy League lacrosse for decades. Cornell has multiple national titles and has been one of the most formidable programs in the Ivy League. 9. North Carolina — The Program That Grew

North Carolina has become one of the premier programs in the country with multiple national championships and consistent top-five recruiting classes. The Tar Heels represent the success story of programs that built elite status outside the traditional Mid-Atlantic lacrosse corridor by recruiting broadly and developing players exceptionally.

10. Penn State — The Rising Power

Penn State has emerged as a genuine national championship contender and represents the expansion of lacrosse's geographic footprint. The Nittany Lions have recruited from the strong Pennsylvania pipeline and built a program capable of challenging the traditional powers in any given season.
